Sree Narayana Guru
Sree Narayana Guru is considered as the father of renaissance in modern Kerala. He was born in 1856, August 20th at chempazhanthy in Thiruvanandapuram. His house is named as vayalvaram veedu.
Raman Pillai ashan is considered as the guru of Sree Narayana Guru. chattambiswamikal and Thycattu Ayya are his contemporaies and his friends. WRITE A BRIEF NOTE ON SNDP. Guru started SNDP yogam in 1903 may 15 Dr.palpu actively helped Sree Narayana Guru in starting SNDP and kumaranashan was made first secretary of SNDP yogam. Vivekodayam is the literary journal of SNDP and it was established in 1904. Kumaranashan was its founder editor. SNDP is headquartered in Kollam.

Sree Narayana Guruis is considered as father of Kerala renaissance in modern Kerala.Guru carried out several activities to wipe out caste system, and other social discriminations prevailed in the society. He worked aganist superstitions and tried to eliminate animal sacrifices. During those days it was believed that only upper caste Hindus (Brahmins) should only consecrate shrines. To mitigate this belief he himself consecrated various shrines.His first mirror consecratition was carried out at kalavancode temple.Guru consecrated Lord Shiva at Aruvippuram in 1888. Guru told that every temple should be attached by some educational institutions.He believed that library and industries have a key role in the development of nation. He conducted Misrabojanam (interdining) to compaign aganist untouchability. He conducted an all religion conference at Aluva in 1924.Guru seffled at aluva and established his Ashram(Advaitashram) on the banks of Periyar in 1914 on the wall of the Ashram it was inscribed "Om Sahodaryam Sarvatra" which means Let brotherhood prevail everywhere.He popularised the ideology "One Cast One Religion and one God for mankind"
